Testimonials
The audience reaction to Sumaya Flamenco was wonderful ...from the drama of the dance to the quality of the musicianship from the emotion of the singing to the authenticity of the whole show they delivered a set that kept the audience enthralled for an hour.

After a sell-out performance, Sumaya are bringing back another night of hot blooded passion. Forged from a meeting of minds and talents from around the globe, they take this traditional Spanish art form and reproduce it as it should be. With the bonus of another dancer and vocalist added, they will once again prove why they are regarded as one of the finest examples of this genre. A fantastic assault on the senses, this is an evening that will inspire young and old alike.

This is just to say, thank you, for the wonderful evening you gave us at Rowhedge. We have had amazing feedback with every form we picked from the audience survey, giving, in effect "straight sixes"...
The next morning, as I dissmantled the stage, it was really nice to think of such wonderful talent that was being displayed at that very spot the night before. I even found the odd hair grip as evidence that it had actually happened! So thank you all, for bringing such quality to our Village Hall.

We booked Sumaya Flamenco to perform at our club as part of a night called "Balkan-Gitano".
They played the opening performance of the evening, and thoroughly wowed us and our audience with their masterful dance and musicianship. They play and dance in a very authentic way - gutsy, heart-wrenching song, sharp percussion, fiery guitar, and enthralling dance, full of Iberian passion and pain! Suffice to say their show went down very well with our audience and we look forward to having them back again during the course of this year....

Over the past year I have booked Sumaya for a number of events to tie in with cinema festivals hosted by
the Ritzy Cinema as well as for the ground-breaking Future Cinema events team. They performed during the
first ever Gypsy Film Festival in London, at the Stella Artois Film Festival in Greenwich and most recently in the 350 capacity Ritzy Screen 1 prior to two sold out screenings of Almodovar's latest masterpiece, VOLVER. It is rare that you get to work with a band who literally never fail to deliver. Each time that I have seen them, they manage to connect with the audience and pull off a heart- felt and honest show, no matter what the circumstances - cafe, open air festival or cinema screen. And each time I see them, I think the same thing: this must be the best flamenco outfit operating in the UK right now.
